On September 24th, The European Commission’s Directorate General Health and Food Safety and the Consumers’ Health and Food Executive Agency – Chafea organizes an online conference “Promoting healthy life styles in Europe: from education to practice”.
Health promotion and disease prevention - including lifestyle medicine – offer large potential to improve the health of European citizens. Lifestyle determinants are behind many non-communicable diseases and have a major impact on the burden on health systems and the productivity of our societies.
Health professionals play a central role to support the prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related non-communicable disease. They should have access to the best evidence base and training opportunities necessary. The European Commission has mapped the current situation on health promotion in educational settings in the EU
This conference will facilitate the exchange of ideas and provide up-to-date information to relevant stakeholders in Member States. Key note speakers come from the World Health Organisation, Harvard University and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. Also, the present situation regarding health promotion in the education of professionals in the EU will be analysed so as to identify opportunities for improvement.
The webinar is scheduled to take place on September 24 2020 from 8: 45 to 13h15 GMT. Participation is free, prior registration is required. For more information, see this website
